Villagers lock up school

VIZIANAGARAM: Villagers of Sitampeta, a hamlet of Thummikapalli panchayat in Kothavalasa mandal, locked up the entrance gate of mandal parishad upper primary school in their village in protest against its merger with the Zilla Parishad High School in Kothavalasa.

Villagers led by Grama Aikhya Sangam president Nagamani staged a dharna and took the pledge that they would not send their children to the school till the proposal was dropped.

The students boycotted classes.
