THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has said that the government will complete by July 15 the land acquisition for the road and rail links to the proposed container transhipment terminal at Vallarpadam in Kochi. He stated this in the Assembly on Wednesday in reply to a submission from Congress MLA K. Babu. The Chief Minister said the government would also rehabilitate all the families who would have to move out of the area. The High Court, in its ruling on petitions filed against the eviction, had specified what all the government should do for these families while taking over their land. The government would diligently attend to the court’s directives. The court had given the government time till January 15, 2009, to complete the rehabilitation process, he said. — Special Correspondent
