Summer Solstice celebrated

NEW DELHI: Members of Science Popularisation Association of Communicators and Educators (SPACE), a non-government organisation, celebrated Summer Solstice in the Capital in a scientific way over the weekend.

On the day when the length of time elapsed between sunrise and sunset in the Northern Hemisphere is the maximum, the SPACE enthusiasts experimented by measuring the shortest shadow of the Sun and calculated the angular separation of the Sun from the Equator.
