12 passengers hurt

Tuticorin: A total of 12 passengers of a mini bus sustained injuries when the vehicle lost control and hit a palmyra tree at Mangalakurichi near here on Wednesday.

The injured were hospitalised. The Eral police have registered a case against the bus driver for rash and reckless driving which caused the accident.

The police on Thursday arrested M. Masanadurai (24) on the charge of stealing 22 gram gold from a house at Eral near here on Wednesday. The police said that the accused took away the jewels after breaking open the house when the inmates were away.
