CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Limited has decided to increase the milk purchase rates by Rs.5 per kg fat from the existing Rs.260 per kg fat to Rs.265 per kg fat with effect from June 25, Cooperation Minister Harmohinder Singh Chatha said here on Thursday. Targeting farmersHe disclosed that the Board of Directors had decided to enhance the rate to encourage farmers to sell their milk to dairy cooperative societies because during summer milk production falls considerably. With the increase in the rates, farmers would get an extra 30 to 50 paise per kg of milk, he added.
