R. Krishnan, the Indian Davis Cup player, reached the third round of the men’s singles at the Wimbledon championships on June 25. He beat Ivor Warwick, of Britain, 6-1, 14-12, 6-0 in the second round, and now meets Jean-Claude Molinari, the young French Davis Cup player, who surprisingly eliminated Britain’s No.2 Roger Becker, in straight sets. Krishnan beat Molinari four years ago on hard courts. Naresh Kumar of India was eliminated in the second round by Pimental (Venezuela) 9-7, 6-8, 8-10, 3-6.
