Bus pass rate: students stage protest

Chitradurga: Condemning the increase in the cost of student bus pass, students, under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), staged protest in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Wednesday.
In a memorandum, the ABVP said that last year, the cost of the annual bus pass was Rs. 970 for general students and Rs. 1,170 for job-oriented diploma course students, and this had been raised to Rs. 1,070 and Rs. 1,470 respectively. This hike, the ABVP said, had put an additional burden on poor students.
The ABVP demanded that the Government immediately revoke the decision.
