Advani, Naveen to address rally

Rourkela: The ruling BJD-BJP is set to launch their election campaign at a joint rally to be addressed by former deputy prime minister L.K. Advani and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on June 29. “During his five-hour visit to the city Mr. Advani would also address the State executive meeting of the BJP,” Jual Oram, MP and national vice-president of BJP, said here on Thursday.

This was for the first time Mr. Advani would be addressing a state executive meeting, Mr. Oram said. About 250 prominent leaders, office-bearers, MPs and MLAs would attend the extended executive meeting which would discuss organisational matter, latest political situation, people’s problem and future programme of the party, Mr. Oram, a former State BJP president said.

Mr. Oram also accused the UPA government of failing to check spiralling prices of essential commodities. – PTI
