12 Kannada activists held at Hogenekkal
Correspondent
CHAMARAJANAGAR: Members of various Kannada organisations laid siege to the post office here on Thursday urging the Centre to stop the Tamil Nadu Government from going ahead with the work on the drinking water project at Hogenekkal.
The members raised slogans against the Centre and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi.
The police arrested 12 members who were tried to enter the post office.
They were released later.
Addressing the members, leaders of Kannada organisations alleged that the Centre had adopted a step-motherly attitude towards the State. It had “failed” in resuming the joint survey of the disputed spot at Hogenekkal, they said.
