Meghalaya Minister arrives

A Correspondent

Nedumbassery: Conrad K. Sangma, Finance Minister of Meghalaya and national president of the Nationalist Youth Congress (NYC), who arrived here on Thursday for a two-day visit to the State was accorded separate receptions by two groups of NYC members at the airport, exposing the factionalist tendencies in the State-unit of the party.

Earlier, the activists of NYC, the youth wing of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), who reached the airport to welcome Mr. Sangma engaged in a squabble that led to a minor clash between the two groups. However, the timely intervention of senior party leaders averted any major crisis on the airport premises.
