Poompuhar sale at Jayanagar

BANGALORE: Poompuhar, the sales outlet of the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited (TNHDC), is holding a crafts mela at Jayanagar.

Panchaloha idols made by the craftspersons of Swami Malai in Tanjore district are a specialty apart from brass lamps of all sizes.

Also on display are a collection of saris, home linen and garments for men with Co-Optex, a Tamil Nadu government undertaking, tying up with the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. for showcasing its products.

Silk saris from Kanjeevaram, Salem, and Arani and cottons and dress materials from Coimbatore, Vorayur and Madurai are up for grabs.

The classic Tanjore paintings, with their lavish gilding, are for sale.

The exhibition is held at 8th Block, Jayanagar, at Rajalakshmi Kalyana Mantapa and is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on all days till July 4.
