SIRSI: Anganwadi workers took out a protest march in most of the taluk headquarters of Uttara Kannada district on Friday under the auspices CITU. CITU district unit president Savita Tanmadahi, who led the protest march in Kumta town, said that the Government should supply nutritious food as was being done earlier and not from Stree Shakti and self-help groups. Anganwadi workers should be made permanent employees and the Government should extend pension facilities to them. Processions were also taken out in Karwar, Sirsi, Bhatkal, Kumta, Honnavar and Yellapur. Anganwadis were closed as a mark of protest in the district.
