KASARAGOD: Burglars broke open a house of a teacher couple at Chepparppadavu, near here, in broad day light on Tuesday and stole valuables. According to a complaint filed by Krishna Bhat and his wife, Varada Sankari, with the Manjeswar police, the burglars stole 40 sovereigns of gold and Rs.10,000 kept at home. The incident is believed to have occurred after the couple went to school in the morning. The couple found their house ransacked when they returned in the evening. The burglars broke open the back door of the house, they said. he police questioned several persons in the area, including the neighbours. Forensic experts also visited the site. — Staff Reporter
