73 p.c. polling in Uttara Kannada

SIRSI: As much as 73.9 per cent of voting was registered in Uttara Kannada district in the elections to the West Graduates Constituency here on Thursday. Of the 14,065 voters in the district, 10,304 have exercised their franchise. Polling was peaceful in the district. The taluk-wise voting details are as follows: Siddapur taluk registered the highest voting percentage of 80.48, while Bhatkal registered the lowest of 66.34. Mundgod taluk registered 80.1 per cent, Yellapur 78.8 per cent, Zoida 76.31 per cent, Haliyal 76.5 per cent, Sirsi 75.87 per cent, Honnavar 74.3 per cent, Kumta 72.20 per cent, Ankola 67.68 per cent and Karwar 67.53 per cent.
