NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Friday asked the University Grants Commission and the Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) to continue with the interim arrangement under which the former has agreed to remove the institute from the “fake universities” list on its website till the final disposal of the petition. IIPM to clarify standIIPM has told the High Court that it would clarify in its advertisements that it offers certificate courses. Justice Rajiv Shakdher asked both parties to continue with the arrangement till the final disposal of the writ petition on August 28. While the UGC agreed to remove IIPM’s name from the “fake universities” list, IIPM would clarify in its advertisements that the certificate courses offered by the Institute would make the students eligible for degrees likes MBA and BBA from the International Management Institute, Belgium. SettlementThe two parties arrived at a settlement following an earlier court order asking them to sort out the matter amicably. Earlier in its petition IIPM had alleged that the University Grants Commission had not given it a chance to present its case before putting the institute on the “fake universities” list.
