Bright future for third front, says Narayana

TIRUPATI: In the “Goud departure” that rocked the Telugu Desam Party early this week, the Communist Party of India (CPI) sees a great opportunity to consolidate forces and wrest power. It may be recalled that the party has already given a tentative green signal for an alliance with the yet-to-be-floated political outfit of film star Chiranjeevi.

Dramatic changes

The party’s state secretary K.Narayana is confident that the dramatic changes in the recent times in the state’s socio-political landscape can help resurrect the much-awaited third front. “New slogans and new policies will bring in votes in the forthcoming elections,” he says.

Formidable force

Mr.Narayana maintained that the exit of Devender Goud was not the TDP’s “internal issue” as there was an indisputable political stand behind his walking out of the party. He denied that the CPI was too eager to have a poll pact with the political outfit planned by Chiranjeevi, but added that his party was not averse to cobbling an alliance with like-minded entities to put in place a formidable force.

Set for doom

Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Mr. Narayana attributed the sprouting of newer forces and the splits witnessed in leading political parties to a perceptible change in the people’s minds. He felt that the two leading parties, the Congress and the TDP, were set for doom as the voters were fed up with their “treacherous rule”. He opined that coalition governments would be in a position to address the issues of the common man, while a ‘solid majority’ would only make the government take the voters for granted.
