dated June 28, 1958: Technical aid

The Governments of India and the USA on June 26 signed five project agreements under which India will receive 1,087,830 dollars in technical and development assistance funds. The projects cover agricultural education and research, aviation ground facilities in Calcutta, technological training, the Geological Survey of India and agricultural machinery trading centre at Budni in Madhya Pradesh. The projects, an official press release said, represent the final portion of the 6.3 million dollar programme of technical assistance to India under the U.S. fiscal year 1958 budget. The agreements were signed by Mr. N.C. Sen Gupta, Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Finance, and Mr. Howard E. Houston, Director of the U.S. Technical Co-operation Mission to India.
