MCEME convocation held

Eighty three officers graduate in B. Tech and M. Tech courses

HYDERABAD: Eighty three officers graduate in B. Tech and M. Tech courses from the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Trimulgherry. The army engineering graduates received their certificates from M. S. Ananth, the Director of IIT- Madras who was the chief guest at the convocation ceremony held on Friday.

Prof. Ananth conferred 47 officers from 83 degree engineering course and 35 officers from Ninth Technical Entry Scheme Course with B. Tech degrees and one officer with M. Tech degree.

In his convocation address, Prof Ananth congratulated the graduating officers on completion of their courses from the prestigious institute. “It is important that we impart those values that can sustain the civilization, not individual human beings,” he said. In 83 degree engineering course, Major Pramod Singh and Major Rupendar Malhotra bagged the order of merit and best all round student officer awards respectively. Major Malhotra also got commandant’s silver medal in electronics stream. In Ninth Technical Entry Scheme Course, Lieutenant Hari Krishna Shukla won both the awards.

Demonstration of student-officers’ projects followed the convocation. Innovative gadgets such as Throw Ball, a ball-like device with advanced camera technology which can be used for remote surveillance, solar-powered ‘Green Car’, , engrossed the guests. Lt. Gen. K.S. Venugopal, Commandant, MCEME, presided over the ceremony.
