Staff Reporter

In Theni and Dindigul districts

THENI: Routine work was completely paralysed in major government hospitals in Theni and Dindigul districts for two hours as all duty doctors went on a strike here on Friday morning in protest against repeated attacks on hospital staff and in support of a legislation to protect their rights.

Work was paralysed at Theni Government Medical College Hospital and other taluk headquarters hospitals in the district.

In Dindigul, doctors did not attend duty for two hours in the outpatient ward in Dindigul, Palani and Kodaikanal government hospitals and other taluk hospitals.

Worst affected were out-patients. Several patients were waiting on the corridors of hospital for treatment. After two hours, they resumed work.
