Deputy Tahsildar stabbed

ATTUR: Three unidentified persons stabbed the Deputy Tahsildar of Gengavalli taluk here on Friday night.
Police said Chinnasamy (52) was coming out of the Attur bus stand, when the trio stabbed him and fled the spot. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Attur Government Hospital. He was given first aid and then referred for further treatment to Salem Mohan Kumaramangalam Government Medical College Hospital.
Farmers hurt
As many as 15 farmers sustained injuries when the van in which they were travelling overturned on the road in Karumanthurai near here on Saturday.
Police said the van carrying vegetables to the market in Jarumanthurai. The injured were admitted to a hospital.
