Boy killed in accident

NIZAMABAD: A 10-year-old boy Mohammad Iliyas of Shantinagar was killed in a road accident at Jubilee Hotel Chowrasta on Khilla Road, on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred when the victim, while was cycling to school, was hit by a speeding tipper coming from Bodhan side. He died on the spot. The lorry driver Bheem Rao Chowhan was taken into custody by the police.

Meanwhile, the irate locals damaged the tipper by smashing windscreens and breaking its diesel tank. The police foiled their attempts to set the vehicle ablaze. The situation was tense for a brief time as the mob threw stones.
