NEW DELHI: A court here on Saturday rejected an anticipatory bail plea by a chartered accountant who has been accused of duping a doctor of Rs.4 lakh by promising him a job with the Uttar Pradesh Government. Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Kumar refused bail to Kailash Hari saying the charge against him was grave and granting bail to him at this stage would hamper the probe. Earlier, opposing the bail plea, public prosecutor Vinod Sharma told the court that the FIR was lodged by the complainant after the accused, who had already accepted a part of the bribe amount demanded, began avoiding him. According to the FIR lodged at the Defence Colony police station in the Capital, Kailash told complainant Sanjeev Goel, a resident of Greater Kailash in South Delhi, that he would get him appointed as vice-chairperson of a U.P. Government undertaking. It was further alleged that Kailash had introduced co-accused Ajay Tiwari, based in Mumbai, to the complainant as a nephew of an influential Minister in the U.P. Government. Ajay, in turn, had demanded Rs.50 lakh for getting him the job. The complainant had paid Kailash more than Rs.4 lakh. Subsequently the accused began avoiding him. The accused have been booked for cheating, forgery and impersonation.
