No ‘energy food’

Bangalore: In the process of transition to decentralising ICDS, the supply of “special energy food” to anganwadis for pregnant women, lactating mothers and young children has been disrupted.

The supply of “energy food” had been given to a Chennai-based company and there was a litigation. Reports from places such as Gulbarga, Mysore, Chennapatna and Bijapur say that “energy food” has not been in supply since January.

While Shalini Rajneesh, Secretary, Women and Child Welfare Department, said that the issue had been sorted out.
