DPCC courts labour force in run-up to polls

NEW DELHI: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) President J. P. Agarwal said over the weekend that the organised labour force had played a vital role in the country’s progress for which they should be rewarded.

The DPCC leader said this at Rajiv Bhawan here after honouring Kishan Pehlwan upon his appointment as President of the Indian National Trade Union Congress. He said the Congress had always supported labour unions and fought for protecting their rights.

Mr. Pehlwan said “it is in the interest of the labour forces to rally behind the Congress and strengthen the party.”The INTUC workers, he added“will ensure that the party retains power in Delhi.”
