CPI(M) seeks CBI probe into murder
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Saturday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the murder of Jayaraman, a data entry operator of Pondicherry University and the alleged malpractices in awarding marks to students of private professional colleges.
In a letter to Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh, CPI(M) MP T.K. Rangarajan alleged that Jayaraman was murdered because he exposed the fraud committed by university officials to award high marks to students who had actually scored less or no marks at all in the semester examinations.
