Stove burst claims life of couple in Chennai

TAMBARAM: A couple, Saranya (22) and Abdullah (26), who got trapped in a fire after a stove burst at their house here on Monday, have succumbed to injuries.

Adambakkam police said on Monday night, the stove which Saranya was using burst into flames .Saranya’s clothes caught fire and she cried out for help. Abdullah, who tried to come to her rescue, was injured. Noticing the commotion, neighbours rushed to their help and admitted the couple at the Burns Ward of Kilpauk Medical College Hospital. The couple have a 15-month-old baby girl.

Meanwhile, the Pallikaranai police have arrested a 25-year-old man, Balaji, in connection with the suicide of his 21-year-old wife.
