Sreesanth gets a gentle reminder

Principal Correspondent

KOCHI: S. Sreesanth, who has been in much action on and off the field the last few months, got a gentle reminder about some of his goals during a function to honour him at the BTH Hotel here on Saturday evening.

The function, where Sreesanth was honoured for reaching the 50-wicket landmark in Tests, was arranged by the Ernakulam District Cricket Association.

“Sreesanth should try to add another zero to the 50,” said the Havells India Vice-President Jyothish Kumar, the chief guest.

“I will, I’ll work hard for that,” one heard Sreesanth whisper loudly.

Recovering well

The fast bowler, who is undergoing training at the BCCI fitness camp in Bangalore, after suffering a side strain recently, said he was recovering well and hoped to get back into the Indian team soon.

He had been very busy too, taking telephone calls from eager parents who were keen to see their children play in the IPL.

“It’s big money and big exposure, so many are interested,” he said.

The champions of Ernakulam’s various leagues also received their trophies during the event.
