Ambu bags for new-borns

BHUBANESWAR: In a bid to arrest infant-mortality rate, the State government has decided to supply mask and Ambu bags with women health workers for newborn babies across the State.

In a press statement, State Health Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey said the mask and Ambu bags would help rescue asphyxiated babies.

Septicemia, diarrhoea and infection in inhaling system were main reasons behind babies who die within 28 days of their birth, the statement said.
