The Hindu employees elect a new union

CHENNAI: E. Gopal was elected president of The Hindu Office and National Press Employees’ Union in the elections held here on Friday.
While M. Kamalanathan was elected general secretary, G. Kumar and P.R. Perumal are the vice-presidents.
S. Martin Thomas will be the joint secretary and P. Jayarathinam the treasurer.
A total of 16 Committee members were also elected to represent different departments.
The newly elected office-bearers called on the Directors of the company, including the Managing Director of The Hindu, N. Murali.
