Six outstation teams for YSCA trophy

Chennai: Six outstation teams — two from Bangalore, one from Mumbai, and three from Thiruvananthapuram — will take part in the ongoing all-India ICICI-YSCA trophy from Monday.

This was announced at a press conference on Friday by YSCA secretary M.S. Gurumurthy.

The outstation teams to have confirmed participation are IOC (Mumbai), SBT, BPCL and Cordiant from Thiruvananthapuram, Wheel & Axle and State Bank of Mysore from Bangalore.

Eight of the 20 teams, after playing one, two or three knock-out matches depending on seeding, will take part in a super league, split into two groups of four. The super league matches begin on July 2.

The top two from each group will go through to the semifinals. Both semifinals, to be played on July 5, and the final, on July 6, will be at MAC Stadium. The final will be a day-night match, starting at 3.30 p.m. — Sports Reporter
