Elderly woman assaulted

NEW DELHI: Two young commission agents have been arrested on charges of criminally assaulting an elderly woman at Sadar Bazar here on Saturday.

According to the police, Suresh (35) and Pawan (22) lured the 50-year-old woman, who had come to shop, to an isolated place on the pretext of fetching her a better deal. The two then allegedly took turns to criminally assault her on a staircase. The victim is a resident of Haryana.

A case was registered after a medical examination of the woman confirmed the assault and the accused were arrested. Both of them are from UP and were staying in a rented accommodation in Sadar Bazar.
