Hoax call
NEW DELHI: An anonymous phone call threatening to blow up the Chawri Bazar metro railway station set off panic in the area on Saturday. The call later turned out to be a hoax.
The call was received at the Police Control Room around 2-45 p.m. claiming that a bomb had been planted at the station. Bomb disposal teams and dog squads were rushed to conduct searches at the underground metro station, but no explosives were found.
“The search operations on the railway track led to disruption of metro rail services on the Vishwavidyalaya-Central Secretariat line for almost half-an-hour,” said a police officer.
