Jayamala elected KFCC president
BANGALORE: In a keenly contested election to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, artiste-producer Jayamala was elected the first woman president of the organisation in the 75-year history of Kannada cinema.
The elections were held for the posts of the president, three vice-presidents and three secretaries each from the production, exhibition and distribution sectors; treasurer and 36 persons for the executive committee of the KFCC here on Saturday.
Supported by the frontline players of Kannada cinema such as Parvathamma Rajkumar, and in recognition of her contribution to Kannada cinema as a producer, and her positive approach to the problem-prone industry, Ms. Jayamala registered an emphatic victory over her rival, the noted producer Bha. Ma. Harish. — Special Correspondent
