Bommai plans teleconference with irrigation engineers

BANGALORE: The Minister for Major and Minor Irrigation Basavaraj Bommai has said that he would introduce daily teleconference mechanism for monitoring various irrigation projects spread across the State and streamlining the administration in a phased manner. He told presspersons here on Saturday that to begin with he would start holding the teleconference with all 19 Chief Engineers on rotation between 7 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. on all days of the week.

The Chief Engineers concerned were expected to provide project details, including the Central Water Commission’s visits and its observations, with statistics to the Government on a day-to-day basis.

In the next phase of teleconference, he would interact with select persons among the 150 executive engineers associated with the important irrigation projects.
