VISAKHAPATNAM: A three day national workshop on HIV and AIDS conducted by Naval Hospital INHS Kalyani under the aegis of Eastern Naval command, on behalf of Indian Armed Forces Medical Services, concluded on Sunday with eminent doctors of Army, Navy and Air Forces from all over the country as well as eminent civilian doctors from all over the State, attending it. The workshop was a professional feast for the doctors in Visakhapatnam, wherein experts discussed all aspects of this dreaded disease . The workshop laid emphasis on recent developments in treatment of HIV/AIDS patients. An expo on HIV/AIDS was the highlight. Inaugurated on Friday by Rear Admiral Hari Simran Singh Malhi, Admiral Superintendent of Naval Dockyard, the workshop had Surgeon Rear Admiral V.K. Saxena from the Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi delivering the keynote address on ‘Prevention and Control Programs in Armed Forces’. The guest lecture on ‘Global perspective on epidemiology of HIV/AIDS’ was delivered by D.C.S. Reddy, National Professional Officer of WHO. KGH Ramana Rao appealed to the audience to ‘Treat HIV and be blessed’.
