Court refers row to consumer forum
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court remanded to the Consumer Forum a complaint by a resident of Bangalore and her son against the refusal by a private insurance company to pay them compensation for the accidental death of her husband.
The petitioner Devaki said that her husband Basappa, an assistant general manager in a brick firm, died in an accident in 2001. He had two credit cards with assured life insurance. While one of the card firms paid compensation after an order by the forum, the other refused claiming that Basappa did not die in a motor vehicle accident.
