“Madhes demand dangerous”

Prerana Marasini

KATHMANDU: Leaders of major political parties — the CPN (Maoists), CPN (UML), and Nepali Congress — have said the demand of Madhes-based parties to establish a single Madhes province would lead to the disintegration of the nation.

Three Madhes-based parties — the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum, Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party, and Nepal Sadhbhavana Party — have been demanding changes in the Constitution Amendment Bill.

The political parties have expressed solidarity with their demand for autonomous provinces, but are against a single province.
