Tipsarevic makes the fourth round

LONDON: Serbia’s Janko Tipsarevic followed his suprise second round victory over sixth seed Andy Roddick with a 7-6(1), 7-6(3), 6-3 win over Russia’s 25th seed Dmitry Tursunov in the third round of Wimbledon on Saturday.

Tipsarevic, who took World No. 1 Roger Federer to five sets before losing in this year’s Australian Open, will face the experienced Rainer Schuettler in the fourth round on Monday.

The results: Women: Third round: 21-Nadia Petrova (Rus) bt 16-Victoria Azarenka (Blr) 7-6(11), 7-6(4); Alla Kudryavtseva (Rus) bt Peng Shuai (Chn) 6-3, 1-6, 6-4; 24- Shahar Peer (Isr) bt 9-Dinara Safina (Rus) 7-5, 6-7(4), 8-6.
