Police inspect prayer centre

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police on Sunday inspected a prayer centre at Pongumoodu following anonymous information that persons belonging to other religious were being offered money to convert to Christianity. Circle Inspector, Medical College, V. Suresh Kumar conducted the inspection. The police said that they found nothing incriminating. Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists had marched to centre accusing it of receiving foreign funds for “forcible conversion” of other religion people to Christianity. — Staff Reporter

KOCHI: The Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited (Supplyco) has begun the initial process for opening special fair outlets in association with Onam festival. Supplyco had been able to curb the price rise in the rice market by selling the commodity at Rs.14 per kg., a press release said.
