Meet to end violence demanded

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Janapaksham leader K. Raman Pillai demanded here on Sunday that Chief Minister V. S. Achuthanandan should convene an all-party meeting to end the continuing violence on the street. Mr. Pillai said that the police and the public were at the receiving end of the violence by students and youth organisations belonging to both the ruling and Opposition fronts. While they had the right to democratic protests, street fighting should be ended. — Special Correspondent
