‘There is a potential for mutual cooperation between Haryana and Himachal’ Need for constructing Renuka, Kisau and Lakhbar Vyasi dams stressed Shimla: There is complete peace in Haryana despite the firing incident at Mumbai allegedly involving the bodyguards of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, state Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Sunday. “Nobody will be allowed to take law into his hand and disturb peace and harmony in the state,” Mr. Hooda told reporters here. The Haryana Chief Minister was here as chief guest at the closing ceremony of installation of district governor of Rotary International district 3090 at Shimla which, was organised by Rotary club Sirsa. Mr. Hooda said there was potential for mutual cooperation between the two states in the field of power and tourism. The Haryana Chief Minister said there was no difference in relations between the two states after change of government in the hill state, where the BJP dethroned the Congress. “I will meet Himachal Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal to enhance cooperation between the two states,” he said. He stressed the need for constructing Renuka, Kisau and Lakhbar Vyasi dams in Himachal Pradesh on priority basis so that power and water could be made available to Himachal, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Hooda lamented that patriotism was missing among the youths. Small countries like Korea and Japan were far ahead as their people have greater feeling of patriotism, he said. He said the Haryana Government has started an ambitious plan of providing eight lakh free water connections to scheduled caste households. Besides a water tank of 200 litre and a tap was being provided free of cost to them.- PTI
