Girls to get the same benefit if they graduate in any discipline Rs.450 fixed as allowance for students who qualify 10+2 exams in science subjects Chandigarh: The science graduates in Haryana will now get Rs.750 per month as unemployment allowance instead of Rs.500. They will be given this allowance as per the new scheme from April 1. Disclosing the new unemployment allowance scheme introduced by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda led Government, an official spokesman said on Sunday that under the scheme, the Government had increased the allowance of science graduates and even of those who have qualified their senior secondary examinations with science subjects. The Government had fixed the allowance of Rs.450 per month for both boys and girls who qualify their 10+2 with science subjects. Now, the girls who have passed 10+2 in any stream would get an unemployment allowance of Rs.450 per month instead of Rs.300 whereas the boys, barring those who have passed their senior secondary in science stream, will be getting Rs.300 as unemployment allowance. He said that the boys, only those who are science graduates would now be getting Rs. 750 per month as unemployment allowance, while girls would get the same amount if they are graduates in any disciplineHe clarified that the girls can avail benefit only in one category under the scheme. --PTI
