It is for Shanta Kumar and the party high command to decide whether the leader will enter into field from Kangra: CM Palampur: The BJP high command will decide whether veteran party leader and Rajya Sabha member Shanta Kumar would contest the coming Lok Sabha election from the State, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said on Sunday. “It is for Shanta Kumar and the party high command to decide whether the veteran leader will enter into field from Kangra which he won thrice in the past,” Dhumal told reporters at Talwar, about 45 km from here, where he had gone to lay foundation of a bridge. Kumar, who had lost the race of chief ministership of Himachal to Dhumal in the run to the assembly election, was sent to Rajya Sabha from the State later on. He added that the decision to field any MLA in the Parliamentary elections would also be taken by the BJP high command. The Chief Minister, whose son and sitting MP from Hamirpur Parliamentary constituency Anurag Thakur has been declared party nominee in the next general elections, claimed the party was getting tremendous support from the common man due to pro-people policies of the State government. “BJP will win easily all the four Lok Sabha seats from Himachal in the general elections,” Dhumal said. –PTI
