Five killed in H.D. Kote accident

MYSORE: Five persons were killed on the spot and 11 sustained serious injuries when a truck, with nearly 50 passengers, overturned while negotiating a curve at H.D. Kote late on Sunday evening.

The identity of one of the dead is yet to be ascertained, while the other victims have been identified as Vaikunta, Basava, Shivappa and Ramanna. The accident occurred near H.D. Kote Handpost when the truck driver lost control while negotiating a curve, resulting in the vehicle falling into a ditch. The truck was carrying loaders, who had visited Chikkadevaraya Betta and were returning after performing prayers.
