CLP condemns Goud’s remarks

HYDERABAD: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) condemned the charges made by T. Devender Goud, who quit the Telugu Desam recently, against the Congress.

The CLP expressed happiness that Mr. Goud had come out of the TDP claiming that he was “disillusioned” with the party as there was “no freedom of expression”. But, it advised Mr. Goud not to target the Congress in efforts to strengthen his leadership, Roads and Buildings Minister T. Jeevan Reddy said.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday along with Ministers Sabita Indra Reddy and G. Vinod, he termed unfortunate Mr. Goud’s comments on the Congress and said the party would not tolerate his remarks made by “distorting facts.” Outlining various development works in Telangana taken up by the Congress government, Mr. Jeevan Reddy said several leaders who participated in the meeting convened by Mr. Goud admitted that the region was discriminated during the TDP regime. Mr. Goud who was given important positions in the TDP including the crucial Home and Revenue portfolios never spoke about the injustice that was meted out to Telangana.
