Statistics Day celebrated

Statistics is important not only in the every day life but also in policy formulation in every sector of the economy, said Dr. Saroja Rama Rao, Director, Directorate of Economics and Statistics. Addressing the gathering on the 116th birthday of Prof. Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis, former director, which is celebrated as ‘Statistical Day’, she said that his contribution to the world of statistics was immense.

On this occasion, she released publications such as Employment Census 2006, Inter-State Comparison of important Indicators, District-wise Economic Census Reports etc.
