THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Students Union (KSU) will intensify the agitation against the government till it withdrew the controversial Social Science textbook for Class VII, State president Haibi Eden has said. Mr. Eden and State secretary Vipin Jose told reporters here on Sunday that the State committee of the union would meet on July 5 to chart out the agitation plan. The union would not repeal the ongoing agitation till the government decided to withdraw the controversial textbook. He accused the government of distorting history of the freedom movement and attempting to defame national leaders. The CPI(M) agenda was being pushed through the textbooks. By enhancing the fees of professional colleges, the government was trying to help the self-financing colleges in other States. He accused Education Minister M.A. Baby of upsetting the fee structure in government colleges. Mr. Baby had not held the customary talks with student organisations before the start of the academic year.
