Government will not fall: Lalu

New Delhi: Railway Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad on Sunday said the United Progressive Alliance government will not fall and the nuclear deal with the U.S. will go through.

Mr. Prasad’s assertion comes at a time when the Left parties are threatening to withdraw support to the Manmohan Singh government over the move to go to the IAEA for India-specific safeguards. “Elections will be held on the due date. The government will not fall and the nuclear deal will also go through,” he told NDTV.

“I reiterate, elections will be held on time,” he said in reply to a query on the possibility of an early Lok Sabha polls. — PTI
