Indian-origin doctor faces charges

TORONTO: An Indian-origin doctor in Canada has been accused of sexually assaulting several of his patients over seven years.

Palaniswami Easwara Murthi, based in northern Alberta, was allegedly involved in sexual assaults on patients - three women and one man - between 2001 and 2007, Royal Canadian Mounted Police were quoted as saying.

He is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie provincial court on Monday. — PTI
