Kerala
In the early morning, from 7 a.m. onwards, students going to various schools in the city and their parents wait at Kunjalummoodu Junction, on the Poojappura-Karamana road, to board school buses. Employees of the VSSC who live in Sastrinagar and neighbouring areas will come together here to board their buses. In addition, senior citizens and other pedestrians will come to the junction to go to various places. The main problem here is the difficulty to cross the road during the early hours of the day, due to traffic congestions. Hence, it will be a great boon to students if a traffic constable is posted here during peak hours, that is from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. V.G. Balakrishnan Sastrinagar A cruel actThe snapping of power supply to the Medical College and SAT Hospital pay wards for not paying the power bill debts is a cruel act. The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) should not have done such a merciless act as hundreds of patients had to suffer for more than seven hours. The KSEB and Medical College Hospital are government undertaking. What was the need for such an action? Patients need proper care and attention. The power disruption might affected their health. Such acts from the KSEB or the Kerala Water Authority should be stopped. Hope in future such a situation shall never arise. Jishi R. Palayam Philatelists’ woesTwo commemorative stamps that were released on June 11and June 12 were not made available on that date in the city. I request that the Post-Master General of Kerala kindly arrange to ensure that commemorative stamps reach the capital city on the date of release in future. Karamana Mani Vanchiyur
